Excellent General Conference Messages, etc
Tucson YSA 1st Ward
5 October 2025
Hey y'all! General Conference has been so good! I'd highly recommend going back and reading or listening to the talks again! This week is yet another week (surprise!) with the usual activities on Monday and Wednesday evenings, with Gathering Place clubs throughout the week and ward choir after church on Sunday. There's also a Fall Formal dance in the works, likely for mid-November - come to Social Dance on Saturday evenings to learn/practice some of the dance styles that will be played that night.
Here's what's coming up:

Gathering Place Club Spotlight:
Nerf Club now meets every other Saturday at 4:30pm. They will hopefully be meeting this week, depending on whether the UofA/BYU football game chokes out our parking lot. Bring your strategic mind and/or a reckless enthusiasm for charging into dangerous situations. Nerf guns and ammo are available to use, strategy not included.
Lots of other Gathering Place activities at the institute every evening of the week
Calendar of events/activities for both wards: https://www.tucsonysa.org/
Special thanks to Orlando Rodriguez for keeping this up to date!
Give something new a try, even if you're skeptical - you might find something you like! I discovered a love for dancing at social dance nights every Saturday night and recommend that to everyone. We need lots more men to show up - no one expects you to be an exceptional dancer, just being willing to learn is enough.
Don't forget our ward goals:
Did I check on my ministering assignments this week?
Did I make or renew a covenant this week?
Did I pray sincerely with an eternal perspective this week?
Did I strive to include the Holy Ghost in my personal study this week?
Did I invite someone to participate in the Gospel of Jesus Christ this week?
Did I serve someone as Jesus Christ would have this week?
